Minnetonka Community Education Announces 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees

Minnetonka Community Education (MCE) has announced the Minnetonka Community Education Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

The new MCE Hall of Fame Class of 2024 members includes Ron Kamps, Dana Teller and Boyer Building Corporation. They were selected by the MCE Advisory Council in February.

“Our great volunteers and excellent staff continue to make Minnetonka Community Education and Minnetonka Schools world class," shared Tim Litfin, Executive Director of Community Education for Minnetonka Schools. MCE strives to recognize and appreciate all contributions made by staff, volunteers, businesses and members of the community.

The inaugural MCE Hall of Fame members, including volunteer Lynn Johnson, program manager Lois Norby and the first MCE Executive Director Jim Jones, were inducted in April 2020. In 2022, three more members were added, including volunteer Steve Pieh, early childhood instructor Margaret Coldwell and office assistant Mary Hall.

  • Ron Kamps was a longtime MCE volunteer, original Tour de Tonka committee member, and a dynamic force for good within the community. Ron volunteered for multiple events for MCE since 2006. Ron helped form the 19-year fundraising relationship between the ICA Food Shelf and Tour de Tonka. He won an award from the Minnesota Community Education Association in 2012. Ron was recognized with a Minnetonka Schools Spinnaker Award at the Celebration of Excellence event in 2014 – all highlighting his lifetime of community service, his generosity and his kind spirit.
  • Dana Teller worked for MCE’s Early Childhood Program in the Child and Family support area for 21 years. During that time, her expertise supported countless children and families through challenging educational and developmental times both on site and at home visits. Dana was always a staff favorite and someone who earned families' trust. Dana was fully committed to her students and families, and she always led with kindness, grace and generosity.
  • Boyer Building Corporation has consistently and generously been involved with MCE for 19 years. Boyer Building has always taken visible and tangible action in their support of Minnetonka Community Education.

Every two years, Minnetonka Community Education Leadership and the Minnetonka Community Education Advisory Council formally recognize and induct a new class into the MCE Hall of Fame. MCE looks forward to inducting another class of outstanding volunteers, staff and community leaders in 2026.
